Acid Coltair Greeting

Acid Coltair Christmas greeting is finally ready for you to view.  I have been working on the greeting for the past few days.  Unfortunately, I have nothing much to write except those few paragraphs.  Anyway, if you are interested in viewing it you can do so now as it is ready.  If you wish to send your greetings to Acid Coltair, you may and I might consider to display it on my site also.

To find out more on the greeting, visit https://members.tripod.com/~hdrive

Christmas Legend

The Candy Cane

The candy cane represents one of the oldest symbols of Christmas, the shepherd's crook, for the shepherds were among the first to experience the first Christmas.

The colors of the candy cane have special meaning. The wide red stripe represents the sacrifice of Christ, "For by his stripes we are healed." The narrow red stripes represent our own sacrifices (giving). The white stripe is a symbol of purity.

The peppermint plant is a member of the hyssop family, referred to in the Old Testament as a medicinal herb used for cleansing.

As you eat your candy cane, you might want to break it, as Christ's body was broken for you, and share it with a friend, thus sharing in the sweetness of the true meaning of Christmas.

Jokes

Ground School

Some time ago, I was taking a ground school class for private pilots. During the sessions on weather, the instructor wanted to discuss the concept of sublimation--the act of going from a gas to a solid skipping the intermediate stage(s). e.g., frost-- water vapor in the air becoming a solid on surfaces without first going through the liquid stage.

Wanting to see if the class had understood the concept, the instructor asked if anyone could provide an example of something that went straight from a solid to a gas (expecting ``dry ice'' as the answer), a previously unknown section of my mind took control of my mouth and immediately emitted the word ``burrito.''

It took the instructor about 10 minutes to regain an academic composure.

Windows 95 & 98 Tips

Fast Folder

Ever wanted to access any folder in your system in a faster way?  If so you can do it by using the "Run" command on the task bar.

Select Start, Run, and in the resulting dialog box, type the path of the folder you want to open. For example, you might type

c:\windows\system

to open the system folder in your system.  To access a network folder type

\\Acid\newsletter

to open the newsletter folder on a networked computer named Acid. After that, press "OK" and the folder will be opened.

Links

After a full consideration, I have decided to add another section on my future newsletter.  The section that I meant is Links.  I have decided to add a few links on my newsletter and if you wish to add your links here you can e-mail your links to me.
